January 10, 2024:  Water Operator Ken Fulford responded with the following information regarding reports of increased chlorine in the water.

The chlorine levels were 1.90 and 2.03 on Monday and Tuesday.  That level is slightly higher than usual but still meets the PADEP guidelines.  We usually run it at 1.2-1.5 to ensure a chlorine residual remains at the end of the distribution system.  The chlorine level will fluctuate up and down depending on the depth of the water in the well on any given day.  For comparison, the maximum concentration is 4.0 on a running annual basis.

STORMWATER

Only stormwater is allowed in the Borough storm sewer system. Anything else violates the PA Department of Environmental Protection and the US Environmental Protection Agency regulations. Residents may be the first to recognize “illicit” discharges dumping into storm sewers, coming out of storm sewers, or coming out of storm sewer outfalls.  An illicit discharge is any stormwater discharge to the MS4* not composed entirely of stormwater.  If you see an “illicit” discharge, please report it by calling the borough office at 215-536-1761 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. – noon Friday or email us at info@trumbauersvilleboro.org.

If an illicit discharge is noticed while the Borough office is closed, please call 911.
Take Photos, if possible.

WATER SERVICE LINE

CUSTOMER SURVEY

Small water systems like ours are working to meet federal EPA requirements to comply with the Lead and Copper Rule Revision (LCRR) initial inventory requirements.  The LCRR requires water systems to prepare and maintain an inventory of service line materials.

The borough is responsible for providing information on the water mains and the service laterals (the pipes that take the water from the main to the curb).  The property owner needs to provide the information on the lateral pipe that goes from the curb box into the house.

It is very important that everyone take the time to gather the information required and submit the completed form (a link to the form is at the bottom of this notice) along with a picture to the borough office no later than June 1st, 2024.  There is a lot of data to collect and organize before it can be submitted to the EPA.  Please spend a few minutes to examine your water line, take a picture if you can and send it to the borough office.  If you need assistance, please contact the office at your earliest convenience to make arrangements for someone to come to your house to assist you.

Thank you.
